Viking was a prominent New Zealand independent record label founded in 1957, which became the country's largest in the 1960s before merging into Viking Sevenseas. It released a wide range of music, including pop artists like Dinah Lee and Peter Posa, as well as extensive recordings of PacificaS and Maori music. The label was founded by Murdoch Riley, Ron Dalton, and Jim Staples and was acquired by Riley in 1968. |
