The Torments — John Campbell, Garry (Gus) Mullholland, Michael Robinson, Bob Barrett, Peter Mullholland and Judith Turtill.

The Torments were the predecessors to The Detours circa 1962. The group played regularly at Friendship House, the Coffee Club attached to the Central Methodist Mission, 209 Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch.
