7 Tongues a Christchurch rock group from circa 2000 ....
Jason Bird (Vocals), Marc Royal (Guitar), Darryn McLaughlin (Bass), Phill Bose (Drums)

7 Tongues formed in Christchurch in 2000 with all four members coming from other high profile independent bands.  Their music is a blend of solid guitar riffage with a lot of hooks and a shit load of energy.  With a live show second to none.  The group relocated to Melbourne after a brazen move to further their music career, a move that is paid off, their reputation grew with every live show the band played.  They wrote and recorded several new songs and supported several international acts including The Internationl Noise Conspiracy from Sweden.  One local mag described them as being - A real rock band, with a real rock show.

Since forming, 7 Tongues have recorded several singles which have attained airplay on both New Zealand and Australian radio including Triple J.  They have also featured on a number of major compilations in both Europe and Australasia.  7 Tongues recorded their debut EP Volume Control at Metropolis Studios in Melbourne which has has the likes of INXS, Deep Purple and David Bowie in its credits.  The EP was produced by Michael Smasha Pollard.
