The Firehouse Nightclub  —  293 Colombo Street, Sydenham, Christchurch ..... opened in 1985 ...

Originally the Sydenham Fire Station (see supplementary image from 1979), the building was converted to a night club with additional facades, and operated as such through the 1980s and early 1990s until it burned down.  Mel and Kim featured as entertainment, as did Tracey Birnie with Big Game Hunters, who undertook a 3 years stint after their 4.5 years at The Palladium.
