John Colton (Chuck) Fowler was born in Blenheim on May 5th, 1934 and was killed in a motor accident in Australia on January 20th, 2000.  He began his musicasl career in Christchurch, performing in a college dance band and working at various clubs nd dance venues.  He became well known as an arranger and featured extensively on radio.
