The Chikadees were an all-girl group which was put together by Tommy Kahi circa the mid 60s. They played locally and ultimately in a *Startime* Spectacular in Christchurch's Majestic Theatre. The group joined Johnny Campbell and The Detours at Paraparaumu's Golden Dance Centre for a three-week holiday stint at the end of 1965.
