The Christchurch School of (Instrumental) Music was founded in 1955 by Robert Perks to provide group tuition for young students along with the opportunity to play in an orchestra or ensemble. It was renamed to the Christchurch School of Music (CSM) when vocal music was added in the 1990's. Although many things have changed over the past 60 years, the one thing that has remained constant is the aspiration of fostering a lifelong love of music. CSM is a not-for-profit organisation with a strong focus on community. On a Saturday morning the whole family can find something musical to match their interests and abilities. |
