Rhythm Guitarist in Johnny Campbell and The Detours

Brian played rhythm guitar in the early part of Johnny Campbell and The Detours' residency tenure at The Laredo Nitespot, to where the group had moved from Surf City.  They soon gravitated to the top slot, after Dave Miller and The Playboys (changing their name to Dave Miller and The Byrds with attendant personal changes) had made their move to the big-smoke of Auckand.  The high-point of the band's career was opening the Rolling Stones/Roy Orbison Show in Christchurch in February of 1965.  Recording-wise, Brian appeared on the group's second Robbins release My Girl // I Just Can't Go To Sleep  RRSP54.
