Bert Parrant  —  guitarist/bass player with Shades, Stereophonics, Bojangles, Southern Jazzmen and Red Hot and Dixie - seen here with his mates from Red Hot and Dixie

Originally from Temuka, Bert has built a solid musical career from early appearances with groups around Timaru to an eventual move to Christchurch, where he has persued his jazz obsession with a change from guitar to double bass, and an involvement with a number of progressive jazz outfits.  Bert is now a successful music teacher as well as a regular performer
