The Safari Lounge, The Scene and The Mecca Nitespot  —  all utilised the E.W. Pidgeon and Coy Ltd. building situated at 224 Tuam Street, Christchurch.
By the time this photograph was taken, the E.W. Pidgeon and Coy Ltd. building had obviously been demolished .....

The image above is a view along Tuam Street to the east, and it shows the Edison Hall building clearly (230 Tuam Street), with the remnants of the E.W. Pidgeon and Coy Ltd. building hanging precariously on its right hand edge (the remnants match up well with the corresponding edge of the monochrome image of the E.W. Pidgeon and Coy Ltd. building edge..  Key residents at particular times were Peter Nelson and The Castaways (The Safari Lounge), Les Street and The Alleys (The Scene), and The Detours (The Mecca Nitespot).

Looking south-west across Tuam Street towards the Edison Hall building  The older E.W. Pidgeon Building would have been to the right, but is has been demolished at this point.
