The Picasso Trio - favourite sons of the Timaru music scene
John McMillan (Bass/Vocals), Murray Richardson (Guitar/Vocals) and Barrie Rhodes (Guitar/Vocals)

The Picasso Trio was the resultant when John Richards moved away from Timaru, and was replaced on Double Bass by John McMillan.  The Picasso Trio was the Group Section Winners of the prestigious 1965 Mobil Song Contest - which was won overall by Kiri Te Kanawa.  The group disbnaded in 1969 with a concert in The Timaru Soundshell, which was attended by around 2000 people
