Frank Kerrison  —  Christchurch jazz and rock drummer ....

Invercargill music fans WERE in for a treat on the night of Saturday October 17th, 2017, with the 15th iteration of the Southland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show, which saw the induction of six noted Southland musicians into the Southland Musicians Club Hall of Fame, in front of an Invercargill Workingmen's Club audience of 350.  One of those inductees, Frank Kerrison, brought his showband with him from present day home Christchurch, plus a very special guest, well known to younger audiences - his son and Op Shop frontman Jason Kerrison.  Southland Musicians Club president Trevor Daley said "We're absolutely rapt to be welcoming yet another panel of top calibre Southland musicians into the Hall of Fame this year, all of our visiting musicians and bands have made their own unique contribution to the Southland music scene down the years, with Frank also bringing with him his son Jason of Op Shop fame, as a special guest performer alongside his showband."

Other inductees for 2017 were The Vision lead singer Jeff Ross, and bassist/keyboardist Pat Houlihan; broadcaster and Post No Bills keyboardist Nick Tansley; and Contraband singer/guitarist Terry Bradshaw and drummer Ross Turner - all but Houlihan were scheduled to play on the night.  As well as being inducted and playing keyboards for Post No Bills, popular MC Nick Tansley hosted the 15th edition of the show, which was first held in 2003.
