Frank Kerrison — Christchurch jazz and rock drummer ....
Invercargill music fans WERE in for a treat on the night of Saturday October 17th, 2017, with the 15th iteration of the Southland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show, which saw the induction of six noted Southland musicians into the Southland Musicians Club Hall of Fame, in front of an Invercargill Workingmen's Club audience of 350. One of those inductees, Frank Kerrison, brought his showband with him from present day home Christchurch, plus a very special guest, well known to younger audiences - his son and Op Shop frontman Jason Kerrison. Southland Musicians Club president Trevor Daley said "We're absolutely rapt to be welcoming yet another panel of top calibre Southland musicians into the Hall of Fame this year, all of our visiting musicians and bands have made their own unique contribution to the Southland music scene down the years, with Frank also bringing with him his son Jason of Op Shop fame, as a special guest performer alongside his showband." |
