The Embers
George Tanner (Vocalist)), Rod Walkinshaw (Guitar/Harmony Vocals)

Former members of Expression Of A Multicoloured Bubble, Rod Walkinshaw, (on guitar and harmony vocals) and George Tanner, (lead vocals) reunited in the early 70's as the duo, Rod and George.  They had numerous successes in local talent quests, culminating in a regular guest spot at The Shoreline Cabaret in New Brighton.  A local musician and talent spotter, Jason Roberts, convinced the duo to branch out from occasional guest work and become a regular act on the local pub scene, and thus they became The Embers.  Capitalising on their unique, tight two-part harmony singing style and covering material of such acts as the Everly Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel and The Bee Gees etc, they gained wide-spread popularity on the local and regional pub and club circuit, eventually breaking up in 1998.
