The Caroline Ramblers
Malcolm Lilley and Malcolm Marshall
From the liner notes to EP 7EGM.6077 Well known throught New Zealand, The Caroline Ramblers are a duo consisting of Malcolm Marshall and Malcolm Lilley, who through their appealing renditions are not only making a name for themselves but also contradicting any thoughts anyone may have that New Zealanders are not to the fore in the world of entertainment. These artists met while sytudying at Timaru High School, and with singing being their forte, it naturally followed that little time would be wasted before they formed themselves into a team to entertain their fellow students. Their success in this sphere encouraged them to seek more competitive fields, which they have readily accomplished with much success, and it is no exaggeration to say that they are now on the threshold of a spectacular career. Country and Western Music is the Caroline Ramblers' favourite medium, and the four songs chosen for their first release - The Maple On The Hill - have been firm favourites in New Zealand for many years. However, despite individual tastes, you WILL enjoy the sound of the two Malcolms, who describe themselves as "lovers of melody". |
